Zafferana Etnea, Italy – August 2016 – From August 4th to 7th, in Zafferana Etnea, close to Catania, 35 young people discussed on the role of the youth in the Italian Federation of Past Pupils of Don Bosco. Guided by the national Delegate, Fr. Gianni Russo,and by the Vice-President for the Young, Matteo Lai, they reflected on social planning, through some lessons delivered by the Delegate for Past Pupils of Sicily, Fr. Enzo Giammello. On that occasion mention was made of 4 social projects elaborated by the young: education to lawfulness and social integration of young immigrants, of minor detainees and of young at risk.

Mornese, Italy – August 5th, 2016 – Cecilia Lee Jin Hee, from South Korea, and Ivonne Mangan Mve, from Togo, on Friday, August 5th, pronounced their perpetual vows in Mornese. Their profession was received by Sr. Vilma Tallone, Economer General, Delegate of Mother General Sr. Yvonne Reungoat. “I can assure you that your Institute will have the possibility to celebrate the 244 and 344 years of life… as we are now celebrating the 144 years since its foundation...” said in the evening the Rector Major of the Salesians, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, in the “Buona notte” he delivered to the FMAs.
(ANS – Mornese) – The 5th of August is the date on which we celebrate the anniversary of the foundation of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary help of Christians. “It was August 5th, 1872, when, with the first professions, the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians was born”.
(ANS – Turin) – On July 20th, at the Special Circumscription of Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta (ICP), the Vice-President John Elkann presented the 2015 Social Budget of the Agnelli Foundation. Speeches were delivered also by Fr. Enrico Stasi, ICP Superior, and Fr. Stefano Mondin, Delegate for ICP Youth Ministry. Stefania Boschetti of Reconta Ernst & Young and Andrea Gavosto, Director of the Foundation, illustrated in detail the main results emerging from the 2015 social budget.
(ANS - Palermo) - At 18, under Italian law, the young people resident in care homes must leave the home. Not all of them, however, are ready to face life alone, to get a job, pay rent or rebuild family relationships.
