Anisakan, Myanmar - January 2025 - The General Councillor for Formation, Fr Ivo Coelho, arrived on 27 January at the headquarters of the Salesian Vice-Province of Myanmar (MYM). He was warmly welcomed with a welcome song by Salesians and prenovices and a welcome address by the Superior of the Vice-Province, Fr Bosco Nyi Nyi, SDB. An animation programme was organised on 28 and 29 January in which some 28 Salesians participated. In his talks, Fr Ivo Coelho focused mainly on freedom in formation, formation as lifelong learning, and prayer in Salesian life. He often quoted the Constitutions and expounded them in a practical and interesting way, which flowed spontaneously from his own life experiences. After each talk, sufficient time was given for interactive group discussions and sharing, and question and answer sessions, where participants freely expressed and shared their insights and reflections with each other. The MYM Vice-Province is grateful to the Lord for the special gift of Fr Ivo Coelho, who was brave enough to visit the Salesians in Myanmar at this very difficult time of political crisis.
