Bolton, Great Britain - January 2025 - Fr Alfred Maravilla, General Councillor for the Missions, visited Project Europe missionaries working in the Province of Great Britain (GBR) from 24-28 January. He arrived at the Provincial House in Bolton on the evening of 24 January and was welcomed by GBR Provincial Fr James Briody. Fr Maravilla had a personal exchange with the first group of missionaries in Bolton and concluded the visit with a fraternal lunch with the Salesians. He then travelled to Battersea, and during his stay he met the second group of missionaries with whom he had a personal conversation. The General Councillor for the Missions also presided at the Sunday Eucharist at the Salesian Sacred Heart Parish, which was celebrating the feast of St John Bosco. In addition to informal and fraternal meetings with young Salesians, he was invited to give a talk to the community in which he explained the purpose, goal and challenges of Project Europe, the missionary reality of the Congregation and the upcoming GC29. Currently 12 missionaries sent by the Rector Major are working in the GBR Province. Another 5 missionaries have returned to their Provinces for various reasons.
