(ANS - Genoa) - The issue of ecology is gaining increasing interest in public opinion among people of all ages and nationalities. The Salesian world is also moving in this direction with the "Don Bosco Green Alliance", a global network that unites Salesian works active in defending the environment. Since October 2019, the Sampierdarena Institute has also been part of this green alliance. To become part of it, it has made three specific commitments:
(ANS - Sesto San Giovanni) - Forming and training young people to enter the world of work in the automotive/motorsports-related field is a traditional activity of Salesian education. In this sense, the Vocational Training Center of the "Don Bosco Social Works" in Sesto San Giovanni, near Milan, is a prime example.
(ANS - Rome) - Accompanied by the thought of the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, the Salesian Family meets again in Turin to together deepen the journey proposed for this year through the Strenna: "'Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven' (Mt 6.10). Good Christians and Upright Citizens." From Thursday 16 to Sunday 19 January, a vast representation of the 32 groups of the Salesian Family will crowd the courtyards of Valdocco for 4 days of reflection, prayer, sharing and meeting in the joyful style of Don Bosco.
Turin, Italy - 1856 - On the second floor of the building parallel to the church of San Francesco di Sales are Don Bosco’s rooms. After passing the anteroom, you enter the first room inhabited by Don Bosco for eight years (1853-61), which at first served as a bedroom, study room and reception room. It is the first building built by Don Bosco, between 1853 and 1856.
Piazza Armerina, Italy - January 2020 - From 3 to 5 January, the 17th edition of the "Teenagers Meeting" of the Salesian Youth Movement (MGS) Sicily was held on the theme "Worlds in contact - Web vs Reality", with 160 participants from the various Salesian presences in the region. "It is about communication and relationship," said Fr Giovanni D'Andrea, Provincial of the Salesians of Sicily and Tunisia, "but it cannot be seen only from a virtual point of view, but gazes, moments, contacts, meetings are needed to give fullness. As educators, it is necessary to know how to speak the language of young people, using these tools to convey positive messages and meet as friends. Today we can even talk about virtual oratories, places where one meets, organizes events, fosters relationships, evangelizes, prays, where educators must be present and capable of understanding the language with awareness."

RMG - St. Francis de Sales Communicator: All for Love
(ANS – Rome) - The figure of St. Francis de Sales, chosen by Don Bosco as an example of a communicator, teaches that communication is a matter of the heart. In his expression, "Everything in the Church is love: everything lives in love, for love, and of love," we understand his revolution in the way of communicating, and how communication becomes fruitful when it allows communion and the exchange of one's experiences in a path of accompaniment and collaboration in God's project.

WHAT A GIFT TIME IS!
THE MESSAGE OF THE VICAR OF THE RECTOR MAJOR,
Fr Stefano Martoglio, SDBThe beginning of the new year is illuminated in our liturgy by the ancient formula with which the Israelite priests blessed the people: "May the Lord bless you, and keep you. May the Lord show His face to you, and have mercy on you. May the Lord turn His countenance to you, and give you peace."
