(ANS - Turin) - The feast of Don Bosco has ended in Valdocco, Turin, the city of Don Bosco. As the Rector Major wrote in the book "The city of Don Bosco", "the true city of the Saint were the young"; in fact, the Saint of Youth identified himself with the city where thousands of boys lived on the street, in the avenues, in the outskirts, and dedicated himself to them to give them three things: “a house where to feel like family, a father who listened to their problems, and a promising future.”
Turin, Italy - January 31, 2020 - At the end of the 6:30 pm Mass, presided by Rector Major Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, about 650 young people experienced a moment of celebration and community at the Oratory of Valdocco with an evening in good cheer and pizza prepared by the young people of the Vocational Training Center. The animators of the Agnelli Oratory of Turin then led a moment of animation with music and dancing, involving all centers, and happily concluded the very special day.
(ANS - Turin) - Don Bosco was a big dreamer. He daydreamed, with his eyes open, like all prophets who see far and look to the future with hope. And with the desire to help those they meet on their way, especially if they are children and young people who live on the margins of society, of family, work and human relations. He dreamed at night in the few hours he could carve out for himself after an exhausting day of work.
(ANS - Turin) - Valdocco is celebrating. Today, January 31, 132 years since Don Bosco's departure for Heaven are being celebrated. Yet, even after all this time, his presence is constant, alive, almost real. These days, hundreds of people have passed through the Salesian places: they kneel at the feet of the Help of Christians and then go to visit the imposing relic of the Saint of Youth. Virtually everyone passing puts their hand on the glass, as if they wanted to say something to Don Bosco. The Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, has been in Valdocco, and yesterday, recalling the visit of Pope Francis in 2015, he invited the whole Salesian Family "to not disappoint the aspirations of our young people."
Turin, Italy - 1858/1868 - This is the photo found in 2002 and studied by Fr Francesco Motto, a historian. To prove the fact that what you see in the picture is Don Bosco, an in-depth study, which lasted several months, was conducted with experts and specialists. The photo shows Don Bosco with four ladies. His face is youthful, calm and serene and even seems to have gained some weight. According to Fr Motto, it is the first photo taken of the Saint of Youth, and therefore the oldest, although it was found only a few years ago.

RMG - St. Francis de Sales Communicator: All for Love
(ANS – Rome) - The figure of St. Francis de Sales, chosen by Don Bosco as an example of a communicator, teaches that communication is a matter of the heart. In his expression, "Everything in the Church is love: everything lives in love, for love, and of love," we understand his revolution in the way of communicating, and how communication becomes fruitful when it allows communion and the exchange of one's experiences in a path of accompaniment and collaboration in God's project.

WHAT A GIFT TIME IS!
THE MESSAGE OF THE VICAR OF THE RECTOR MAJOR,
Fr Stefano Martoglio, SDBThe beginning of the new year is illuminated in our liturgy by the ancient formula with which the Israelite priests blessed the people: "May the Lord bless you, and keep you. May the Lord show His face to you, and have mercy on you. May the Lord turn His countenance to you, and give you peace."
