Costa Rica - Great celebrations in honour of Don Bosco in the city of Zapote
Zapote, Costa Rica - January 2025 - The Educative and Pastoral Community of the Don Bosco Institute in Zapote commemorated the feast of St John Bosco on 31 January with numerous activities for students, teachers and the faithful. The day began early in the morning, with a procession accompanied by songs and hymns in honour of the Father and Teacher of Youth. Afterwards, Fr Douglas Pérez, the Institute's Pastoral Care specialist, celebrated the Eucharist which was enhanced by a performance by the secondary school choir. After Mass, those present were involved in fun activities and choreographed a song commemorating the Jubilee and Strenna 2025. The celebration continued with the competition ‘Who wants to be a Salesian?’, an interactive dynamic that tested the participants' knowledge of the first two decades of Don Bosco's life, based on the Memoirs of the Oratory. In the evening, the parish community joined in the solemn Mass in honour of St John Bosco, followed by a fraternal agape in the chapel.
