(ANS - Alcamo) - The Salesian Oratory of Alcamo, belonging to the Sicilian Province (ISI), has produced, with the participation of the children of the oratory, three short videos based on several phases of Don Bosco's life, drawing inspiration from the "Memoirs of the Oratory". Born to give voice to the Strenna 2021, which is entitled “Moved by hope”, the project intends to speak of hope, highlighting its meaning in a few events that marked Don Bosco's life profoundly.
Udine, Italy - January 2021 - Always attentive to the world of young people, the Salesian Institute "Bearzi" in Udine presents to the public its new musical project, "Le promesse che ho scritto sulla pelle - The promises I wrote on my skin", a song created with the aim of telling the world of young people by young people themselves. At the center of the project are the thoughts of the students of five Bearzi high school classes who, guided by their teachers, shared their concerns about life, their choices, and their future in general. “Credere che tutto sia possibile anche quando è incomprensibile - Believing that everything is possible even when it is incomprehensible” is not only the song's refrain, but also the message of hope this song wants to bring to all the young. The video of the song is available online from January 31st on YouTube and on the main digital music platforms.

Turin, Italy - January 2021 - On January 31 at the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin - Valdocco, the celebrations in honor of the "saint of young people" were held throughout the day, featuring Mass at 9.30 presided by the Archbishop of Turin, Msgr. Cesare Nosiglia, and at 6.30 pm with the presence of the Vicar of the Rector Major of the Salesians, Fr Stefano Martoglio, with the usual Mass dedicated to the Salesian Youth Movement. The word of Jesus and His lifestyle are not an invitation to say a series of no, but they indicate the true way of the yes, which can fully fulfill even the impossible dreams considered humanly unattainable. (Mons. Cesare Nosiglia - From the homily for the feast of Don Bosco). Each of us here has a special relationship with Don Bosco, and we normally call it that; but the special relationship is to find oneself within one's own story of salvation, within one's own DNA, within one's genealogy, this great Saint, this great believer. (Fr Stefano Martoglio - From the homily for the feast of Don Bosco).

WHAT A GIFT TIME IS!
THE MESSAGE OF THE VICAR OF THE RECTOR MAJOR,
Fr Stefano Martoglio, SDBThe beginning of the new year is illuminated in our liturgy by the ancient formula with which the Israelite priests blessed the people: "May the Lord bless you, and keep you. May the Lord show His face to you, and have mercy on you. May the Lord turn His countenance to you, and give you peace."
