Colombia - ‘How to build a synodal pastoral ministry?’ Young leaders meet to find answers
Llanogrande, Colombia - February 2025 - Promoting pastoral actions of and for young people was the central aim of the recent Meeting of Youth Ministry Delegates from the Salesians of Don Bosco and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Colombia and the National Salesian Youth Movement Council. The event took place from 8 to 10 February at the Salesian Spirituality House in Llanogrande. Through an atmosphere of youthful, joyful and committed spirituality, the participants shared experiences and strategies to strengthen a Salesian-style synodal mission. The process served to consolidate pastoral initiatives that respond to current realities, promoting a dynamic, close and hopeful pastoral ministry. The delegates and national councillors worked around three major objectives: the creation of the SYM National Meeting, a key space for the articulation and strengthening of the SYM in the country; contributions to the Pastoral Proposal 2026-2028, to draw up strategic guidelines that respond to the needs and dreams of young people; and spaces for reflection on the Strenna 2025. During the meeting, the SDB and FMA Delegates and National Councillors were officially presented. They will be responsible for guiding and accompanying the pastoral processes in each of their regions. This meeting reaffirmed the Salesian Family's commitment to young people, betting on a youth ministry that is a path of synodality, participation and youth invovlement. The invitation is clear: to continue dreaming of a mission that, starting from the joy of the Gospel, builds hope and transforms realities.
