"This is not a simple chronological succession, but a rereading of the saint's writing in which the great example of hope that is offered is tangible," explained the young Salesian in formation Orazio Moschetti, from the community of Alcamo.
The first video is entitled "La vita marchiata da un sogno - Life marked by a dream" and tells of the years from 1815 to 1835. Already in the first years of the saint's life, hope always accompanied Giovannino and you can see it in the great example witnessed by mother Margherita, from the meeting with Fr Calosso and Fr Cafasso, from the commitment and effort shown in his studies, from the human relationships that the young saint easily managed to establish, for example with Luigi Comollo or the Jew Jonah. Don Bosco's path is already marked by hope.
The second video, “Trovare una geografia nel buio - Finding a geography in the dark”, narrates the years from 1835 to 1845. Don Bosco becomes a priest and immediately begins to look for a place where he can welcome all the children he met on the street, often orphans and without teaching. This is where hope acts: despite the constant difficulties, he manages to find a suitable place for his children. Even when the path seems difficult, the saint entrusts himself to Him and to Her who, as a child, had indicated to him the field in which he was to work. Hope and trust in prayer contributed to the creation of a courtyard. Life in the oratory is a continuous team game, which however lays the foundations for living with joy and rediscovering Jesus in oneself and in others.
The third video is entitled "L’albero cresce ed estende i rami - The tree grows and extends its branches". Since 1845, Don Bosco's boys have finally found a place to stay, and in which they can learn all the teachings he could give them. However, there was not a moment of rest either for the boys, who were continually committed to helping the saint, or for Don Bosco, who suddenly fell ill due to his daily efforts. His boys, however, do not lose heart, they pray intensely and rejoice in the healing of their Father, Teacher and Friend. Mamma Margherita rushes to help her son. From that moment on, Grace pours into Don Bosco's immense project/dream, which he himself will fully understand only in 1887.
Hope and continuous entrustment to Jesus and Mary did not disappoint Don Bosco even for a moment because "whoever surrenders himself fully to God, it is impossible not to be heard."
