Vibo Valentia, Italy - 12 March 2021 - As part of the Extraordinary Visitation to the Southern Italy Province (IME), Fr Juan Carlos Pérez Godoy, Councilor for the Mediterranean Region, visited the “Don Bosco” Salesian Youth Center-Oratory of Vibo Valentia on 12 and 13 March.
(ANS - Macerata) - At exactly 3 pm, for many years, every afternoon, at the Salesian oratory-youth center in Macerata, many children and young people gather for the "DonBoScuola", a project that aims, on the one hand, to providing scholastic support to children who suffer from educational and non-educational poverty, with the aim of ensuring that they are accompanied in their daily study; and on the other, to increase the dynamics of socialization and inclusion through workshops and games. Even the "DonBoScuola" was affected by the pandemic and its consequences. But it hasn't stopped them at all.
(ANS - Turin) - On the altar of St. Joseph in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin there is a large painting by the painter Lorenzoni, representing the Holy Family. It is an invitation for every Salesian work to be a family and for the educational style to be based on family relationships. But also an invitation to recover the spiritual and educational centrality of St. Joseph, in a world that so much needs fathers.
(ANS - Turin) - On Tuesday afternoon, March 16, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, visited the Don Bosco International Institute of Turin-Crocetta's formation community. The invitation addressed by the Director of the Community, Fr Marek Chrzan, to the Rector Major to visit the community of specific formation for the priesthood was aimed at offering him a better knowledge of this formation house in view of the rethink as regards Formation of the Congregation in Europe.

(ANS - Rome) - Since the first lockdown they have collected over 500 unused PCs and put them back together to give them to children and young people in difficulty, because "digital education must be everyone's right". The project is called "PC4U.tech" and was conceived by four 18-year-olds from Milan, including two students from Salesian schools: Pietro Cappellini, who is attending the fifth year of Graphics at the Technical Institute of the Salesians, a secondary school; Matteo Mainetti, Jacopo Rangone and Emanuele Sacco, in the last year of the scientific lyceum of the Salesians. For their commendable service they were awarded by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella with one of the three plaques awarded on Thursday (not yet physically delivered) "for having reduced the digital divide".

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale
(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
