(ANS – Rome) – At the Course based on "Returning to the origins" organised by the Salesian Missions Sector for Salesians of advanced age and long missionary experience, a central moment was the one called "sharing my life lived in mission", in which all the participants were able from time to time to talk about their missionary vocation, the challenges experienced and the lessons learned in their 30, 40 or 50 years in mission. To share these valuable testimonies with the entire Salesian Family, from today ANS will present the testimonies of these "older" Salesians, as ideas and models for the Congregation today. We begin, therefore, with Fr Alfredo Boldori, a 75-year-old Italian originally from the Province of Cremona, but active for many years in the Province of Recife, Brazil (BRE).
(ANS – Rome) – On Wednesday 29 May 2024, at 18:30 (UTC+2), the outcome of the restoration of the decorative program for the Saint Cecilia crypt, generously financed by the Fondazione Paola Droghetti ONLUS, carried out by Maria Gigliola Patrizi and Giovanna Prestipino under the direction of Barbara Mazzei, from the Pontifical Commission of Sacred Archaeology, will be presented at the site of the Saint Callistus Catacombs in Rome.
(ANS – Rome) – Even after the Feast of Mary Help of Christians, the series of in-depth studies dedicated to the most famous shrines dedicated to Don Bosco's Madonna throughout the world continues. Today we present the church dedicated to her in the Almagro district of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
(ANS – Rome) – Enthroned on the front of her Basilica in Lima, an almost eighty-year-old image of Mary Help of Christians is a silent witness to the daily movement of the thousands of passers-by who pass daily before her. Located right where Avenida Brasil is, one of the main and busiest roads in the capital of Peru, the figure is protected from the elements by a glass screen placed ten years ago during the restoration work of the church, declared a Cultural Heritage of the Nation.
(ANS – Rome) – "Mobile Journalism" (or "MoJo"), understood as digital information created using mobile devices such as smartphones, is a communication area in which the Salesians of Don Bosco are heavily investing. This approach serves as a resource for agile and effective communication, especially in settings with limited structural resources. In preparation for the Communication 2024 Conference "SHAPING TOMORROW," which will take place from August 1 to 7, 2024, at the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) in Rome, the Sector for Social Communication is presenting a reflection on this theme.
(ANS – Rome) – From 18 to 22 January this year, the Salesian Missions Sector organised a meeting in Turin dedicated to Salesian museography. The initiative gave the opportunity to learn more about this surprisingly widespread cultural presence in the panorama of Salesian presences in the world. A panorama seen from Valdocco in Turin traces the history of the Salesian charism.

Chile – Former Salesian student in the fight against Alzheimer's disease(ANS - Santiago) - Dr Nibaldo Inestrosa, graduate of the Salesian Institute in Valdivia and national prize of Natural Sciences winner, is a pioneer and expert in the study of Alzheimer's disease in the country. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.
