(ANS – Rome) – With just over two weeks to go until the Extraordinary World Assembly of Past Pupils, scheduled for 2-6 October at the Salesian Mother House in Valdocco, Turin the World Delegate for the Past Pupils of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Salesian Brother Dominic Duc Nam Nguyen, has sent them a brief video-message.

(ANS – Aparecida) – The heads of the Salesian Social Works of America are gathered in the city of Aparecida, Brazil, from 9 to 13 September 2024, under the motto: # SoñandoenRed(Dreaming as a network). After a first day full of conferences, reflections and exchanges on Salesian social action in the American continent, the event continued with a second day full of action and youth participation.

(ANS – Halifax) – After two years of preparation, the first international school of French has finally opened in the region of Acadia, in Halifax, in the Province of Nova Scotia. It is the ninth school of this type in Canada, but this also has the special nature of being Salesian. In fact, it is the International French High School of the Atlantic Provinces (LIFPA, in French) "Don Bosco Halifax".

(ANS – Nairobi) – In a groundbreaking move for digital education in Kenya, Don Bosco Boys Town has become the country’s first AWS Digital Academy Member Institution. The launch event held on 10th Sept., marks a significant step forward in cloud skills training and certification in the region.

(ANS – Rome) – Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime conducted the funeral, on Thursday 12 September 2024 at the Salesian Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Rome, of Fr Alain Anne Robert Pinet, a 65-year-old Belgian Salesian, with 44 years of religious profession and 34 years of priesthood. The Salesian, who died after a long illness on the evening of Tuesday 10th, had resided in the Salesian Headquarters community for just over a year, and had arrived there in order to be cured, after many years of missionary life in the Salesian presences of the Chinese Province.
