(ANS - Rome) - Anna Kolesarova was beatified on Saturday 1 September in Slovakia, in Košice, by Cardinal Giovanni Angelo Becciu, the new Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, representing the Holy Father. Teresa Bracco was beatified twenty years ago by John Paul II. In addition to the very young age in which they died, these two women have in common their devotion to Saint Dominic Savio, who inspired their lives.
(ANS – Rome) – The 8th International Congress of Mary Help of Christians, an event of the Salesian Family promoted by the Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA), in agreement with the Salesian Family Secretariat and the Salesian Family of Argentina, will be held in Buenos Aires (Argentina) from 7 to 10 November 2019.
Rome, Italy - September 2018 - At the Salesian Headquarters of the Sacred Heart of Rome, the 24 new missionaries of the 149th Salesian Missionary Expedition began their 4-week preparation course. Guillermo Basañes, General Councilor for the Missions, with his team, led by Fr Gianni Rolandi and Fr Martin Lasarte, guided and animated them.
(ANS - Rome) - Thirty years ago, 1988, on the celebrations of the centenary of the death of Don Bosco, the Salesian Youth Movement was officially recognized as the Salesian Youth Worldwide Movement.
(ANS - Rome) - The Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, resumed his efforts to bring the embrace of the Successor of Don Bosco around the globe. From 3 to 8 September he will visit the Province of the United States East and Canada (SUE) and meet the Provincial Council of the United States West (SUO) on a journey that was partially canceled and modified due to lack of authorization to enter the USA.
(ANS - Rome) - Costantino Vendrame was born in San Martino di Colle Umberto, in the diocese of Vittorio Veneto (Treviso) on 27 August 1893. His parents Pietro and Elena Fiori taught him to love work and sacrifice and above all the Lord. From an early age, Constantino distinguished himself by his intelligence and his goodness. He completed his high school studies in the seminary of Vittorio Veneto and in 1913 he put into practice his dream of becoming a Salesian and entered the novitiate of Ivrea.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale
(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
