Brazil – The Salesian Family Celebrates the First Anniversary of the Dedication of the Church of the Good Jesus in Horto
Juazeiro do Norte, Brazil – February 2025 – On February 3, the Salesian Family celebrated the first anniversary of the dedication of the Church of the Good Jesus, located in Horto, a site associated with Fr. Cícero (spiritual leader & acclaimed local saint of the people of Northeastern Brazil), in Juazeiro do Norte. The event featured moments of prayer, celebration, and fraternity among the gathered faithful. It brought together members of the Catholic community, religious leaders, and devoted followers, reaffirming the historical and spiritual significance of the church. Among those present was Bishop Magnus Henrique Lopes of Crato, who presided over the evening Eucharistic celebration. During the occasion, the new tabernacle was blessed, bringing great joy to those in attendance. Following the Mass, the faithful gathered outside the church for the unveiling of a new monument in honor of St. John Bosco and Servant of God Fr. Cícero Romão Batista. The celebration concluded with a fireworks display and the cutting of a commemorative cake, creating an atmosphere of joy, emotion, and gratitude.
