(ANS - Rome) – Today, 13 July, Rector Major Fr Ángel Fernández Artime released the presentation of the 2019 Strenna. "This is a great opportunity to offer several notes for the development of the theme. There is no other pastoral element that the Rector Major offers, in the name of Don Bosco, to the whole Salesian world." The title that will accompany the 2019 journey is: 'So that my joy may be in you' (Jn 15:11). Holiness for you, too.'
(ANS - Rome) - A few weeks after the Study Seminar on Salesian Meditation (Rome - San Callisto, 10-12 May), the Formation Department returns to re-examine the meaning of that event and the steps to be taken to rediscover and live an element of Salesian spirituality that Don Bosco and his Successors have always indicated as fundamental, vital.
(ANS – Rome) – On 28 June 2018, after the recent consultation for the new Provincial, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, with the consent of his Council, appointed Fr Jacob Hideaki Yamagouchi as Japan's 14th Provincial for the period of 6 years (2018-2024), when the Province of St. Francis Xavier is preparing to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Salesian presence in the country.
(ANS - Rome) - From June 22 to 24, at the Salesian Headquarters in Rome, the International Commission Youth Ministry and Family met for the first time. This Commission, coordinated by the General Councilor for Salesian Youth Ministry, Fr Fabio Attard, SDB, assisted by the collaborators of the corresponding Dicastery, is composed of 15 other people, Salesians, laity and lay experts on this theme, from the five continents.
(ANS – Rome) – On 26 June 2018, after the consultation for the Provincial of INA Vice Province, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, with the consent of his council, appointed Fr Andrew Wong as the first Superior of Indonesia for the 6-year term (2018-2024).
Rome, Italy - June 2018 - The Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, following the discernment held in the curatorium of the Pinerolo novitiate house "Monte Oliveto", and with the consensus of the General Council, officially communicated the appointment to the aforementioned house of Fr Leonardo Mancini as its Director - Master of the house of Pinerolo "Monte Oliveto" for 2018-2021, a first term of three years. Fr Mancini accepted this task in obedience, which he will assume in the next month of September, succeeding Fr Pietro Migliasso. Among the tasks of Fr Mancini there will also be that of accompanying the transfer of this formation house of Pinerolo "Monte Oliveto" to Colle Don Bosco, during the course of this next 2018/19.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
