(ANS - Rome) - World Youth Day 2018, celebrated Sunday 21 October, even as the Synod of Bishops on young people was taking place, focuses precisely on young people as heralds of the faith: "Together with the young, let us bring the Gospel to all" is the chosen motto. For the Salesian Family - always characterized by missionary longing, and strongly convinced that there is no one better than a young person to accompany another young person to Christ - it is a message and a day that give new impetus to the apostolate.
(ANS - Rome) - Today, Wednesday 17 October, the "International Day for the Eradication of Poverty" is celebrated. Is it solely a day for the commemoration and celebrations by those who are not poor? "What does the cry of the poor express if not their suffering and loneliness, their disappointment and hope?", asks Pope Francis; who then confirms that this day is "a small response that from the entire Church, spread all over the world, is addressed to the poor of every kind and of every land so that they do not think that their cry has fallen into the void."
(ANS - Rome) - About 70 thousand people are expected to take part in San Pietro at the canonization Mass of seven new saints, including the archbishop of San Salvador, mgr. Óscar Arnulfo Romero Galdámez.
