Rome, Italy - 1960s - In this black and white photograph, dating back to the early 1960s and kept in the archives of the Salesian Pontifical University, it is possible to see how the building site of the Pontifical Salesian Athenaeum, in Rome's Nuovo Salario neighborhood, looked at the time. The Athenaeum was in fact transferred to Rome in the first half of the 1960s in order to unify all the Faculties in one location for better mutual collaboration.

Turin, Italy - June 2022 - On Saturday, June 11, at the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Valdocco, the diaconal ordination of nine Salesians who completed the third year of theological studies at the Turin section of the Faculty of Theology of UPS was celebrated. The ordaining bishop, Msgr. Roberto Repole, new Archbishop of Turin and distinguished alumnus of the Turin-Valdocco Gymnasium, celebrated with joy and sincere participation in the Basilica for the first time in his ministry. The extraordinary presence of the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, 10th Successor of Don Bosco, and some members of the General Council, happily joined the Superior of the Special Circumscription Piedmont and Aosta Valley (ICP), Fr. Leonardo Mancini, and the Rector of the International Institute "Don Bosco" of Turin-Crocetta, Fr. Marek Chrzan, in the solemn concelebration, together with all the various Salesians from various entities of Italy, Europe and across the globe.
(ANS - Turin) - There are 8 of them and they come from the 5 continents and 6 Salesian regions: they are the Provincials and Vice-Province Superiors participating in the Course of Formation and Accompaniment for newly appointed Provincials currently already underway at the Salesian Motherhouse in Turin. Accompanying them on the intense course is the entire General Council, also gathered in Valdocco for the work of the General Council.
Turin, Italy - June 2022 - On the evening of Thursday, June 9, at the "Toolbox" workspace in Turin, the closing ceremony of the "Panda 4 Mission" project was held, which engaged the students of the Automotive Mechanics and Bodywork courses of the Salesian Vocational Training Center in Rebaudengo to completely restore a vintage Panda 4×4, kindly made available by the "Torino Heritage" association. The next day, the car was auctioned, thanks to the collaboration with the prestigious auction house "Bolaffi," to donate the entire proceeds of the sale (13,250 euros) to the Vocational Training Center in Ivato, Madagascar, for the purchase of educational equipment. This experience was an extraordinary opportunity for the sectors involved, and for the young people and formators who participated, who were able to put in a wide variety of skills and multiple hours of work.
(ANS - Moncalieri) - On the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the death of St. Francis de Sales (1622-2022), the Federation of the Visitation Italy North - belonging to the Order of the Visitation of Holy Mary, a religious institute of Pontifical Right founded by St. Francis de Sales and St. Jeanne Frances de Chantal - has promoted a pilgrimage of the relic of the heart of the Savoyard saint to the monasteries of the Federation. It is thanks to this significant initiative that next June 17 Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesian Congregation, together with some members of its Council, will have the opportunity to concelebrate a Eucharist in honor of the patron saint of the Salesians and to venerate his relic at the Visitation monastery in Moncalieri, not far from Turin.
