(ANS - Turin) - Every year, June 24 is a special day for all past pupils and friends of Don Bosco around the world because it celebrates the movement’s founding day. It was on this day in 1870 that the first group of past pupils from Valdocco, led by Carlo Gastini, visited Don Bosco to celebrate his name day - the feast day of St. John the Baptist - and to thank him for the love and education they had received. This moment of grace is marked by the values of gratitude and love that have always distinguished the movement of the Past Pupils.
(ANS - Turin) - Yesterday afternoon, Thursday, June 23, at the Mother House of the Salesians in Turin-Valdocco, the traditional meeting of dialogue, discussion, and Salesian fraternity between the General Councils of the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) was renewed. The Rector Major, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, flanked by the other members of his Council, warmly welcomed and hosted Mother Chiara Cazzuola, Mother General of the FMA, and her Councilors.
(ANS - Turin) - The Feast Day of Thanksgiving to the Rector Major by his Salesian confreres and all those who love Don Bosco was renewed once again this year, in the setting that is most proper to it: Valdocco. Originating exactly 152 years ago, on June 24, 1870, with the tribute of a coffee set to Don Bosco by Carlo Gastini and other former students of the Oratory, today the celebration constitutes a time for Salesians and members of the Salesian Family to thank Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, who is Don Bosco's tenth Successor, for his leadership and governance of the Congregation, as well as for his service of animation and his bearing witness.
(ANS - Rome) - "The Manifesto of Good Work - Thinking with Your Hands" promoted by the organizations Centro Nazionale Opere Salesiane - Formazione Aggiornamento Professionale (CNOS-FAP) and ELIS (Education, Work, Sport) was presented yesterday, Tuesday, June 21, in Rome, at Palazzo Giustiniani, headquarters of the Senate Presidency, to reiterate the centrality of manual labor in all its forms.
(ANS - Rome) - In the month of June, when the feasts of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary are celebrated, the third video in the series on St. Francis de Sales from a pastoral perspective is being offered. He is the saint who perhaps more than any other in the Church has been able to make the closeness of the Heart of God felt by his people and has been able to help hundreds of people, guided by him, to listen again to their hearts, where God is present.
