(ANS – Rome) – The Feast of Don Bosco is a day of celebration in all Salesian communities around the world. Great celebrations were also held at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Rome, a church Don Bosco strongly and which he had built at the expense of his own health. The climax of the feast came with the solemn afternoon Eucharistic concelebration, presided over by the titular Cardinal of the Basilica, Cardinal Giuseppe Versaldi.
(ANS – Turin) – Yesterday, Wednesday, 31 January 2024, was, as is traditional, a day of great celebration in Turin for all the friends of Don Bosco, for the Salesian Family and for the Congregation itself. The day in Valdocco was full of celebrations, and once again its model of witness of faith and social commitment was transmitted to all the faithful and sympathisers of Salesian work.
(ANS – Rome) – On the feast of St John Bosco, the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) of Southern Italy (IME) publishes the unreleased song "Tutti nel tuo sogno": a hymn for the Bicentenary of Don Bosco's dream at nine years of age.
Brussels, Belgium – January 2024 - The "TGS18 + Brussels" experience has just ended for a group of young people from the Salesian Astori Institute in Mogliano Veneto (Treviso), accompanied by the social promotion association TGS Eurogroup, promoted by the Salesian St Mark's Italy North-East Province (INE). The study trip to discover the European institutions took place from 23 to 26 January 2024 and is part of the "TGS for Schools" programme, thanks to which schools and formation bodies request the collaboration of the Salesian association as a partner for specific activities and tailor-made projects in the field of youth tourism. The students were received by the Honourable Rosanna Conte who hosted them and had the opportunity to accompany them inside the seat of Parliament, explaining to them the parliamentary activity, visiting the Hemicycle and the offices. "An opportunity for young people to discover the role of the EU institutions, promoting a greater understanding of the importance of European cooperation – explained the Hon. Conte –. "I have seen young people who are attentive and receptive, happy and curious to understand how this great machine that has such an impact on our lives, works." The students visited the European Commission, the Council of the European Union, the House of European History, the "Parlamentarium" visitor centre, and had several interesting meetings with civil society: the European Youth Forum, the European Centre for Volunteering, the Commission of the Episcopal Conferences of the European Union, Don Bosco International and Don Bosco Youth-Net.
(ANS – Pietra Ligure) – After a year full of initiatives organised by the Vera Grita and Fr Gabriello Zucconi – Work of the Living Tabernacles Foundation, together with the Diocese of Savona-Noli and the parish of Mary Help of Christians in Savona, the Centenary of the birth of the Servant of God Vera Grita, Salesian Cooperator, born in Rome on 28 January 1923, ended yesterday, 28 January.
(ANS - Rome) - On Sunday 28th January 2024, the Fourth Sunday of Ordinary Time, Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, blessed and inaugurated the new Chapel of the Word of God at the Salesian Headquarters - which has undergone extensive renovation work in recent months. It was a very simple and at the same time a meaningful rite, during which the community of the Salesian Headquarters could rejoice in the dedication of this space for prayer, and a space for fraternal communion at the table of the Divine Word.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.
