The piece was prepared by the young Delegates from the oratories run by the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) in Southern Italy, in a process that began in November 2023 with a creative writing workshop, held by the Social Communications Office, during the SYM Territorial Assembly. On this occasion, inspirations, musical references, rhymes, were valuable ideas that inspired the actual composition and the musical arrangement project.
At the beginning of January, the launch of a contest for performers on social media saw 40 male and female voices, aged 12 to 26 as candidates, and the final selection of 4 young people who experienced the exciting experience of recording in the recording studios at "Zeus Record" in Naples.
"Everyone in your dream" is an energetic and modern manifesto of the fully Salesian creative and educational ability to transform wolves "that the world cannot understand" into lambs, through "a True encounter that creates (...) a revolution". The text aims to highlight the young people's sense of belonging to Don Bosco's prophetic dream and their declared desire to perpetuate his proposal, not only as a memory to be celebrated, but as a positive and proactive commitment to change. In a world in continuous transformation, the final message of the song is clear: "you counted on me before I believed in it, today your dream is not lost, it has also become mine".
The song is online on YouTube, social channels with a video lyric, and will soon be available on digital music platforms. It will be the soundtrack of this year's SYM celebrations and will be the driving force for the start of a new grans SYM choir in southern Italy.
In addition, chords, scores, musical bases will be made available to everyone so that the song can reach the strings of every instrument and its message resonate in the playgrounds of Salesian houses around the world.
