(ANS - Rome) - In his words to the Synod of Bishops on young people, the Rector Major highlighted several themes: that the Church is not only made up of parishes, but also of many structures that welcome, educate and accompany; the need to include young foreigners in communities; the need for fatherhood and motherhood of many young people. With its activities in favor of Unaccompanied Foreign Minors (UFM), the "Borgo Ragazzi Don Bosco" represents an exemplary model on all three issues.

(ANS - Rome) - From October 25 to 28, the Association of Salesian Cooperators will hold its 5th World Congress at the "Fraterna Domus" of Rome-Sacrofano, with about 330 representatives of 80 nations from every continent participating. The theme of the Congress is the need of the Salesian Cooperators to "be co-responsible to respond to the new challenges of the world."

Turin, Italy - October 2018 - Fr José Miguel Nuñez, currently Director of the Salesian community "Bartolomé Blanco" of Seville, Spain, received a mandate from the Rector Major to perform the Extraordinary Visitation to the Special Circumscription of Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta ( ICP) in his place. As part of this visit, Fr. Nuñez will be at the Salesian "Edoardo Agnelli" in Turin from 22 to 24 October. On the morning of the first day, he met students of the two-year study program and the Vocational Training Center; in the afternoon, he met with the youth of "Social Housing", and the youngsters of the oratory and the parishioners in the evening. Today, he meets the young people of the three-year secondary school program, and then the directors and teachers of the various sectors.

(ANS - Rome) - The peoples of Amazonia demand more attention from the Church and from governments. Sensitive to this theme, Pope Francis has called for a Synod of Bishops for the Panamazonic Region for October 2019 entitled: "Amazonia, new paths for the Church and for an integral ecology". For its part, the Salesian Family intends to contribute to its preparations in various ways, including a path of reflection, which has already begun.

Turin, Italy - October 2018 - On 21 October, the XXVIII Marian Day of the ADMA Primary took place, attended by several groups from the Piedmont Province, Valle d'Aosta Province and neighboring Provinces. Following the celebration were talks by Fr Eusebio Muñoz, Delegate of the Rector Major for the Salesian Family, and the presentation of the New Book of Mary Help of Christians "All the generations will call me Blessed", curated by Fr Pierluigi Cameroni, Postulator General for the Causes of Saints and the Christian Family and ADMA Spritual Animator. In the afternoon there was still time for the interventions of two FMA religious, the recitation of the Rosary prayed by the young, and the Eucharist wherein a dozen new ADMA members took up their commitment to join.

Lombriasco, Italy - October 2018 - On 2 October, the Salesian Agricultural School of Lombriasco welcomed a delegation from the Salesian Agricultural School in Colonia Vignaud, Argentina, made up of 4 students and 1 teacher, as part of the project of cultural exchange and work experience "Solidarity of Don Bosco - Youth in Agriculture". The Argentine delegation spent a week of training, meetings between students of the Institutes, visits to local agro-food companies taking part in the project, and the discovery of the places of Don Bosco in Piedmont. The presence of the Salesians in Colonia Vignaud dates back to 1903 and the agricultural school developed in the Seventies.
