Mexico City, Mexico - January 2025 - On 28 January in the Shrine and Parish of Mary Help of Christians, Fr Juan Aarón Cerezo Huerta took office as Superior of the Salesian Province of Mexico City (MEM). The installation ceremony was presided over by Fr Hugo Orozco Sánchez, Councillor for the Interamerica Region, concelebrated among others by Fr Ignacio Ocampo Uribe, former MEM Provincial, Fr Filiberto González, Superior of the Salesian Province of Guadalajara, Mexico (MEG) and by members of the Provincial Councils. Present among the large number of faithful who flocked to the ceremony were Sister Margarita Chavarría Primavera and Sister Socorro Hernández, Provincials of MME and MMO respectively. After the homily, Fr Juan Aarón Cerezo Huerta made his profession of faith and declared the truths of the Word of God and the Church, and signed the paper at the altar ratifying his appointment in the presence of Fr Orozco, who in turn signed the paper. After congratulations and a fraternal embrace, the Regional Councillor dressed the new Provincial in a stole that is kept as a relic since it was used by Don Bosco. Mass continued, after the Eucharistic consecration and communion, Fr Juan Aarón Cerezo Huerta made his first speech as MEM Provincial.
