Ecuador - The Office of Communication has begun animation visits with the young people of Cayambe and Ibarra ‘Like Don Bosco, communicators of hope’
Ecuador - With the aim of promoting the importance of communication among young communicators of Salesian works and strengthening the effective passing on of the work, values and mission of the Salesian Congregation, on 23 January the Office of Salesian Communication (OSC) of the Salesian Province of Ecuador (ECU) began its animation visits. The animation visits began with the Local Communication Referents and Journalism Clubs of the Domingo Savio Salesian Educational Unit in Cayambe and the Sánchez y Cifuentes Salesian Educational Unit in Ibarra, under the motto ‘Like Don Bosco, communicators of hope’. Technical: together with Francisco Quisilema - a former student of Domingo Savio and audiovisual producer who shared some strategies for developing videos for social networks and talked about his experience as a member of the journalism club and how he became a communications professional. Animation: the meeting was attended by Tatiana Capelo - Provincial Delegate for Social Communication - who shared the reality of the sector and brief traits of the communication of Don Bosco Communicator and St. Francis de Sales. Conclusion: the young people were able to work in groups and define the characteristics of the profile of the Salesian Young Communicator; and learn aspects and criteria of Artificial Intelligence at the service of evangelisation, communication and education. A very relevant activity during the visits is the meeting with the Local Communication Contact persons to learn about the initiatives, challenges, results and difficulties they encounter.
