DR Congo - Welcome Ceremony in the Africa Congo Vice-Province for two new missionaries
Masina, Kinshasa, DR Congo - January 2025 - On Sunday 26 January, the Missionary Animation (DPAM), Youth Ministry (PJ) and Social Communication (CS) Delegations in the Africa Congo Congo Vice-Province of Mary Help of Christians (ACC), organised a welcoming ceremony for the two new Salesian missionaries who have arrived. The two young Salesians, Valan Arockiaraj and Francisco Viana, come from India and Timor Leste respectively. The welcome ceremony took place in the ACC Vice-Province Office, in the presence of the Superior, Fr Aurélien Mukangwa, his Vicar, Fr Sylvain Woto, some ACC Councillors, several Salesians and young people from the Salesian Youth Movement. As a sign of welcome, Fr Aurélien Mukangwa offered each missionary the statue of Mary Help of Christians, patroness of the ACC Vice-Province, and the Easter candle, symbol of the risen Christ, guide and companion of the mission. Valan Arockiaraj is destined for the prenovitiate, and Francisco Viana for the St Thomas Aquinas postnovitiate.
