Above all, this song expresses its authors' love for Don Bosco. Every word of the song's lyrics aims to translate for today the greatness of his heart as Father and Teacher of the young: ‘His heart that is as wide as the sands of the sea sweeps us into eternity’.
‘As if he saw the invisible’ [Come se vedesse l'invisibile] is a beautiful phrase that recalls his total abandonment to God's plan for his life and his trust in Divine Providence and Our Lady Help of Christians. And the song is an invitation to walk with the young people, because ‘God put us in this world to love and serve... because we are pilgrims for eternity’.
A number of artists were invited to record the song: master arranger Edoardo Petretti, who plays piano, keyboards, percussion in the song and has collaborated with Francesco De Gregori, among many others, and conducted the Sanremo Festival orchestra; drummer Francesco De Rubeis, whose background in classical studies and his love for jazz gave the song's rhythm section an elegant touch; the ‘bluesy’ colours of Marco Zenini's bass; and in addition the voices of Stefania Stefanini and Fabrizio Emigli - his acoustic guitar in the song - who ensured that the song ‘Come se vedesse l'invisibile’ was professionally crafted.
Always important is the place where the song is technically constructed. For a successful recording of the track, Fr Gildasio Mendes and Fabrizio Emigli entrusted themselves to the expert hands of the technicians at the Roman recording studio ‘TOTOSOUND’ (Toto Giornelli and Marco Maracci) and the whole thing saw the light of day in two and a half days.
