(ANS - Rome) - On 8 January, with a solemn concelebration presided by the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, in the Basilica of the Sacro Cuore in Rome, the liturgical memorial of Salesian Blessed Titus Zeman was celebrated on the 50th anniversary of his death. In that same basilica, on 7 March 1938, the young Zeman had pronounced the vows of that perpetual profession that he would seal with his life given for the faith and for the salvation of vocations.
(ANS - Rome) - The XXXVII Spirituality Days of the Salesian Family take place from tomorrow, Thursday 10 January, to Sunday 13, at Turin-Valdocco, an event that every year attracts hundreds of people from all over the world and gives them a chance to grow in awareness of belonging to the special spiritual and apostolic family born with St. John Bosco.
(ANS - Soverato) - The University “Don Giorgio Pratesi” of Soverato, in the province of Catanzaro, Calabria, affiliated to the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the "Pontifical Salesian University" (UPS) of Rome, inaugurated its first Academic Year on Friday 21 December.
Rome, Italy - January 2019 - On the morning of Wednesday, 2 January 2019, the fourth Provincial Chapter of the Central Italy Circumscription "Sacro Cuore" began. After the invocation to the Holy Spirit, the Provincial, Fr Stefano Aspettati, gave the official beginning to the meeting involving about one hundred Salesians, some FMA and a large group of lay people coming from the centers and houses of the Circumscription. Already from the first day of the meeting, there were moments of debate on the proposed themes: a constructive and necessary debate to give concrete answers to new needs.
Turin, Italy - As part of the Salesian Family Spirituality Days, the young people of SYM, who participated in the journey called "The Art of Animating", will re-present the theatrical show "L'arte di Giò", after the success of the first edition. The show will be staged Saturday, 12 January 2019, at the large theater at Valdocco, starting at 20.30.
(ANS - Naples) - IME Comunicazione is the new startup sponsored by the Salesian General Administration and strongly desired by the Rector Major. The startup will provide eleven young people the chance to enter the world of work through the business of Video Productions.

Chile – Former Salesian student in the fight against Alzheimer's disease(ANS - Santiago) - Dr Nibaldo Inestrosa, graduate of the Salesian Institute in Valdivia and national prize of Natural Sciences winner, is a pioneer and expert in the study of Alzheimer's disease in the country. Italy – On-Line Course on Integral Ecology 2025: An Initiative of the Alliance for the Care of Our Common Home (Pontifical Universities & Atheneums of Rome)(ANS – Rome) – 2025 marks the tenth anniversary of Laudato Si’, Pope Francis’ landmark encyclical letter on the Care for Our Common Home, in which he invited all people of good to “a new dialogue about how we are shaping the future of our planet” (Laudato Si’, 14). However, as Pope Francis recognizes in Laudate Deum, the apostolic exhortation published on 4th October 2023, “our responses have not been adequate” and “the world in which we live is collapsing and may be nearing the breaking point.” (Laudate Deum, 2).
