(ANS – Dili) – From June 24th to June 26th, 2024, the Salesians of Don Bosco of the LKC Vice Province hosted an inspiring Mobile Journalism (MOJO) workshop for young people in Sri Lanka, under the leadership of Fr. Sebastian Fernando SDB. This event brought together 16 enthusiastic participants—3 girls and 13 boys—from various Salesian institutes across the region.
(ANS – Rome) – The Salesian Youth Ministry Sector has just published an updated and significantly expanded edition of the Vocational Training Centre section of the Youth Ministry Framework (2014), which traces the path of reflection and practice of recent years in the Salesian Congregation around the relevance, identity and educative and pastoral work of these Salesian presences. The effort of the Sector, through the different continental coordinators of Don Bosco Tech and their teams, consisted of collecting what they have shared in many meetings of reflection and sharing during the last two years.
(ANS – Rome) – There are only forty days left until the Salesian Youth Synod (SYS), the great initiative promoted and organised by the Salesian Youth Ministry Sector on the occasion of the Bicentennial of Don Bosco's Dream at Nine Years of Age (1824-2024). From 11 to 16 August 2024, hundreds of young people from Salesian circles will crowd the Salesian Places in Valdocco, Turin and Colle Don Bosco for an opportunity for reflection, sharing and joint planning for the future, together with the Salesians and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.
(ANS – San Salvatore Monferrato) – Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, on Sunday, 30 June 2024, was in San Salvatore Monferrato in the diocese of Casale Monferrato, in Piedmont, to remember Salesian Father Carlo Evasio Cavalli, a native of the town of Monferrato, who was the spiritual father of Salesian Brother Artemides Zatti, proclaimed a saint on 9 October 2022. On the occasion, the 10th Successor of Don Bosco, and since last April 20 also Titular Archbishop of Ursona, led a rich program of activities culminating in the dedication of the Via Crucis Way to Saint Artemides Zatti located at the Shrine of the Madonna del Pozzo.
(ANS – Rome) – Gen X, Gen Y, Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Gen C are all terms that have now entered our daily lexicon. Trying to understand the differences between these categories, however, can generate confusion. Fr Maciej Makuła, SDB, a member of the Social Communication Sector, has catalogued the various generations and their different ways of approaching the world of communication. He presents an accurate examination of this topic in preparation for the 2024 Communication Conference "SHAPING TOMORROW", which will take place from 1 to 7 August 2024 at the facilities of the Pontifical Salesian University (UPS) in Rome.
