(ANS – Hong Kong) – "I have been working in Aberdeen Technical School (ATS), as a principal for 11 months. I am happy that I can feel the Salesian loving kindness and the great blessings from God through working this school. Running a school in Hong Kong is not easy, partly due to the declining in birth rates over the past 10 years and partly due to many social problems in the society, like social changes, huge differences between the rich and poor, small and expensive living places and increase in divorce rate, etc .
(ANS - Caracas) - “In the midst of difficult political and social situations in our beloved Venezuela, signs of hope appear,” a Salesian writes, “and one of these was the fourth vocational discernment meeting that was held from July 23 to 27. They were five days of grace and fraternity, offered with love for our country Venezuela.”
(ANS - Matadi) - Salesian Fr Nicola Ciarapica, a missionary in Matadi, sent a letter announcing that, starting August, he shall be leaving the mission of Matadi, Liberia, where during these years, among the many problems, he dealt with the Ebola emergency by organizing a prompt and effective response. Fr Ciarapica has been transferred to Sunyani, Ghana, in a community that forms future Salesians.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

Dear friends and readers, members of the Salesian Family, for this month's greeting in the Salesian Bulletin I will focus on a very important event that the Salesian Congregation is holding presently: General Chapter XXIX. This assembly, the most important one that the Congregation can experience, occurs every six years along the Salesian Congregation’s journey.
