(ANS - Goma) - Goma is a city in the Democratic Republic of Congo, capital of the North Kivu province. Since 1988, there has been a Salesian Center, "Don Bosco Ngangi", in the city. Over time, educational and recreational activities have developed into a broad training project, while natural disasters and wars have also forced Salesians to provide answers to local society in virtually every other area of daily life.
(ANS - Brasilia) - In 2009, the relics of the Saint of the Young began their peregrination across the globe. For five years, they were brought to the many places Salesians work at the service of young people who are poor and needy. In 2015, to celebrate the the 200th anniversary of Don Bosco's birth, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, decided that five relics would be placed in five important Salesian locations in the world, and one of the chosen locations was: Brasilia.
(ANS - Rome) - From July 31st to August 3rd, the Salesian Team Visit regarding the new Mediterranean region was held at the General House in Rome. Led by the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, his Vicar Fr Francesco Cereda and some members of the General Council, other participants included: the Provincials and their respective councils of the Provinces of Italy, Portugal, Spain and the Middle East. The purpose of the Team Visit was the Verification and Programming of the Congregation's various Sectors of Animation via various reports delivered by the Councilors of the Sector and of the Regional Councilor to the assembly.

(ANS - RMG) - Just a few days before the beginning of the 29th General Chapter (GC29) of the Salesian Congregation, Fr Alphonse Owoudou, Councillor for the Africa-Madagascar Region and Moderator of GC29, recounts in detail, through an articulate interview, the work preceding and underlying this responsibility, indicating the spirit that will animate it and the attitudes and conditions to make it truly a Cenacle in which the Holy Spirit can act, for the benefit of the Congregation, the Salesian mission and the youth of the world.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

Dear friends and readers, members of the Salesian Family, for this month's greeting in the Salesian Bulletin I will focus on a very important event that the Salesian Congregation is holding presently: General Chapter XXIX. This assembly, the most important one that the Congregation can experience, occurs every six years along the Salesian Congregation’s journey.
