India – International Women’s Day: Transforming Energy into Synergy for a Better Society
Tiruchy, India – March 2025 – During the International Women’s Day celebration at Don Bosco Youth Village Susaipudayanpatti, Keeranur, the state official of Kulathur Taluk urged women to channel their intrinsic energy into synergy. He emphasized that society becomes a better place for all when women harness their energy collectively.
The event gathered over 1,000 participants representing 75 self-help groups from 31 villages. This marked the seventh consecutive year of Women's Day celebrations at the venue. Guests of Honor included Mr. T. Selvam, Pudukottai District Councilor; Mr. Ananth Manikkam, President of Keeranur Town Commerce Association; Fr. Ricopar Rayan, Director of Don Bosco Care Home, Salem; and Fr. Ashok Lawrence, Director of Cauveri Development Office, Trichy.
The dignitaries praised the efforts of women and encouraged them to strive for greater achievements. The celebration was vibrant, with participants dressed in colorful sarees, traditional dances, and cultural performances. The event, coordinated by Fr. Barnabas, Director of Don Bosco Youth Village, concluded with the distribution of mango saplings to attendees.
