(ANS - Turin) - The Salesians have welcomed Pope Francis' missionary summons and, as every year, have renewed their commitment to spreading the Gospel with the Missionary Expedition from the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin-Valdocco. On ANSChannel, in the different language channels, a video-greeting is now available that the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, has sent to the whole Salesian world just before the sending off Mass: a video that simply serves to transmit “the testimony of these confreres, who come from many parts of the world and will go to 17 nations!"
(ANS - Turin) - Yesterday, 29 September, the Rector Major of the Salesians, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, presided at the Eucharistic celebration of the 150th Missionary Expedition during which he consigned the missionary cross to 36 Salesians and 13 Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in the presence of his Vicar, Fr Francesco Cereda, of the General Councilor for the Missions, Fr Guillermo Basañes, the Mother General of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Mother Yvonne Reungoat, and Sr. Alaíde Deretti, Councilor for the Missions.
(ANS - Turin) - From 27 to 29 September, the traditional missionary appointment with the Harambée will take place in Turin - Valdocco, which this year will be enriched by an important anniversary: the 150th missionary expedition. 36 Salesians and 13 Daughters of Mary Help of Christians will receive the missionary cross from the hands of the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, during the celebration in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians.
Genoa, Italy - 16 September 2019 - These days, the Salesians who will be part of the 150th Missionary Expedition are visiting Genoa to commemorate the first expedition. In Sampierdarena they visited the Salesian house, the oratory, the school, the vocational training center, the Italo-Latin American parish, the Don Bosco house for unaccompanied foreign minors, the day center for autistic children, the Latin American school. They will also visit the bell tower of the church, the only part built by Don Bosco, predominant compared to all the others in the city. The missionaries also met with Msgr. Nicolò Anselmi, auxiliary bishop of Genoa, who presided over Vespers, and the Mayor of the city, Marco Bucci.
Rome, Italy - September 2019 - 150th Salesian Missionary Expedition: Jesus' appeal "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation" (Mk 16:15) continues to find answers, thanks also to the participation of 36 Salesians who will announce the Good News in the style of Don Bosco.
