Rome, Italy - June 11, 2021 - On Friday June 11, when the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was celebrated, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, presided at Mass in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart's courtyard, in Rome. In compliance with anti-Covid norms, many faithful participated in the celebrations to live together this Solemnity, so important for the whole Salesian Family.

The Vice Province has 102 confreres including missionaries.
(ANS - Rome) - The tenth video seed completes the series of aids offered in recent months to encourage the reading and sharing of "Young Salesians and Accompaniment – Orientations and Guidelines" (GSA). In this last message, Rector Major Fr Ángel Fernández Artime and the General Councilor for Formation Fr Ivo Coelho, together with Christopher, Wellington, Carl, Ignazio, young post-novice confreres, trainees and theology students who, together with many other companions, have made the production of this and previous video messages possible.
(ANS - Rome) - Yesterday, 10 June, on the eve of the Feast Day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major, with the consensus of the General Council, appointed Fr Líder Justiniano Flores as the 15th Provincial of Our Lady of Copacabana Province of Bolivia (BOL) for 2021-2027.
(ANS – Rome) – During the first World Consultative Assembly of the Missions Sector in September 2008, a strong need was felt for greater visibility of missionary animation in the Salesian Congregation. After long discussions on ways to promote missionary animation at the Congregational level Fr Václav Klement, then Councillor for the Missions, proposed a simple monthly bulletin. Hence, “Cagliero11” was born in January 2009. “Cagliero” refers to Fr. John Cagliero, the leader of the first missionary expedition; the number “11” recalls the send-off of the first Salesian missionary expedition on 11 November 1875. This monthly invitation to all Salesian communities around the world had three main objectives: to contribute to the visibility of the missions; to make people pray for the missions; and to foster new missionary vocations.
(ANS - Rome) - “We all need and deserve someone we can rely on.” This is the fundamental message of the new video of the “CaglieroLIFE” series of the month of June.
