(ANS – Rome) – The Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, sent a message of thanks and encouragement to the Past Pupils who tomorrow and the day after (June 25-26) will participate, in digital mode, in the XII Congress of the Past Pupils of Don Bosco of the Asia and Oceania Region. "We must be moved by hope in all possible senses of this sentence," he says.

(ANS - Rome) - Tomorrow, 19 June, concludes the new edition of the Course for the recently appointed Provincials, the second which has taken place with the new General Council elected by the 28th General Chapter, and the second since the beginning of the pandemic. Starting from June 6, seven Provincials have been sharing their days with the Rector Major and his first collaborators, learning about the programme and the guidelines of the Congregation and each one had the opportunity to present their own circumscriptions to the General Council.
(ANS - Rome) - The 12th Congress of the Past Pupils of Don Bosco of Asia and Oceania will take place on 25 and 26 June, the first to be carried out digitally. The two-day online program envisions three sessions with the evaluation of the path taken since the previous Congress in Dili, Timor Leste (2016), reports from each Alumni National and Provincial Federation as well with two special inputs and the possibility for smaller group interaction.
(ANS - Rome) - The Regional Coordinators of Salesian Social Communication Sector met yesterday, June 16, 2021, in digital mode, with the General Councilor for Social Communication, Fr Gildasio Mendes, and the new members of the dicastery. The main agenda of the meeting was to take stock of the of the progress made in each Region in view of the launch of the “Salesian School of Social Communication” (SSCS), and to have an overview of all the programmes planned, in each of the regions.

In it, the Rector Major of the Salesians, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, explores the third roadmap of the six-year term contained in the document "Post-Chapter Reflections", entitled: "Living the 'SALESIAN SACRAMENT' OF THE PRESENCE".

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

Spain – 33rd Edition of the Edebé Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature: Here Are the Winners
(ANS – Madrid) – The 33rd edition of the Edebé Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature has been awarded to Beatriz Giménez de Ory (Madrid, 1972) for her novel Tres niños tristes y medio unicornio (Three Sad Children and Half a Unicorn) and David Lozano (Zaragoza, 1974) for his novel La cacería (The Hunt).

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
