(ANS - Mornese) - On Friday, Aug. 5, 2022, on the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA), the Vicar of the Rector Major, Fr. Stefano Martoglio, in the presence of the Institute's Mother General, Mother Chiara Cazzuola, and other Sisters on the General Council, presided over a solemn Eucharist inside the Shrine dedicated to "Santa Maria Domenica Mazzarello" near Mornese, during which four FMAs - originally from East Timor, China and the Middle East - made their Perpetual Profession, a public and ecclesial act.
(ANS - Turin) - The 2022 edition of Campobosco, a pilgrimage to the Salesian Places and a journey of discernment and inner discovery for the young animators of the Salesian Youth Movement of Spain and Portugal, closes today with the return to Barcelona of the approximately 800 young participants. During these last few days, the participants experienced some of the most significant moments of their journey, with stops in Mornese, Turin, and Valdocco, and words of animation from the Mother General of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Mother Chiara Cazzuola, and Don Bosco's 10th Successor, Rector Major, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime.
(ANS - Mornese) - The date of August 5 is a date of grace and an event of powerful communion for all the world’s Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA), especially so this year. This is because on August 5, 1872 - that is exactly 150 years ago tomorrow - in Mornese, Piedmont, a group of 11 young women, led by Maria Domenica Mazzarello pronounced their "yes" before Don Bosco to give life to a religious congregation that would be inspired by the example of Mary Help of Christians and would be dedicated to the education and evangelization of and of young people, especially those from poor families.
(ANS - Castelnuovo Don Bosco) – The Campobosco 2022 of the young people animating the works of the Salesians and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of Spain and Portugal is already in Italy... and the participants wasted no time to begin the related visits to the sites that marked Don Bosco's childhood and youth.
(ANS - Foggia) - They began again with football at the Salesian oratory in the Candelaro neighborhood of Foggia. And on the field, here for the first time, girls and young women took to the field. A "pink", or all-female team. "Don Bosco said to start with what the kids like and then give it an educational value," explains Massimo Marino, 47, president of the "Sacred Heart" sports association. "And what the girls were asking us was to play football."
(ANS - Rome) - From July 28 to 30, at the "San Tarcisio" work in Rome, 17 Salesian priests and 2 coadjutors met for the second edition of the seminar on the centrality of the Eucharist in the Salesian charism, starting from the writings and witness of the Servant of God Vera Grita, Salesian Cooperator, whose Diocesan Inquest of the Cause of Beatification was celebrated this year. Coordinated by Fr. Pierluigi Cameroni, Postulator General of the Causes of the Saints of the Salesian Family, the meeting concluded the Congregation's 28th General Chapter's online in-depth initiative on the "Salesian Sacrament of Presence," organized by the "Work of the Living Tabernacles" Study Center and the Conference of Salesian Provinces of Italy (CISI) Formation sector.
