(ANS - Turin) - Giving thanks to God for the gift of Artemide Zatti's holiness and celebrating the great value of their vocation together with all Salesian Brothers around the world: this was the meaning of the Eucharistic Concelebration presided over yesterday, Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022, by Rector Major, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, at the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Valdocco (Turin), in front of about 650 Salesian coadjutors who came from all over the world for the canonization events of Artemide Zatti, SDB.
(ANS - Turin) - For the hundreds of Salesian brothers who came to Rome for the canonization of Artemide Zatti, SDB, the moments of celebration, spirituality, communion, and gratitude are not yet over. The organizing committee that took care of all events related to the canonization also prepared a pilgrimage in Don Bosco's footsteps for all of them. Begun on Saturday, October 8, with the discovery of the places lived and frequented by the Saint of the Young in the capital of Italy, the program is completed these days in Turin, Castelnuovo Don Bosco, and in the traditional Salesian sites of Piedmont.
(ANS - Rome) - After months of waiting and fervent preparations throughout the Salesian Family, yesterday, Oct. 9, 2022, Salesian coadjutor Artemide Zatti was proclaimed a saint; but the events organized to celebrate this historic moment - the canonization of the first non-martyr Salesian - are not over. In fact, the Rector Major invites the entire Congregation and the Salesian Family to celebrate a Eucharist of thanksgiving for the canonization of Br. Artemide Zatti on Tuesday, October 11, in every part of the world and at the most opportune times for individual contexts: it will be a way to thank God for this great gift as a global community. For his part, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, will preside over the Eucharistic Concelebration of Thanksgiving for the gift of Artemide Zatti's sainthood at the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin-Valdocco, which will be attended by Salesian brothers who have come from all over the world to Italy because of the canonization.
(ANS - Rome) - The canonization of Artemide Zatti was an event that filled all of Argentina with joy and pride, the country where the Salesian coadjutor spent his entire life of dedication to the sick and the poorest. Although born in Italy, he lived in Argentina from the age of 17 until his death, and has thus been called the third Argentine saint, after St. Héctor Valdivielso Sáez, and St. José Gabriel del Rosario, better known in his homeland as the cura brochero. That is why today, Monday, Oct. 10, at the Argentine National Church in Rome, Argentine Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Eastern Churches, presided over a Mass of thanksgiving for Zatti's canonization for the Argentine faithful gathered in Rome.
(ANS - Rome) - After the morning of celebration and festivity experienced in the Vatican together with the Pope and the Rector Major, and in anticipation of the solemn canonization ceremony of Artemide Zatti, scheduled for Sunday morning, on the afternoon of Saturday, October 8, about 650 Salesian coadjutors from all over the world filled the streets of Rome to discover together, as brothers consecrated in the same charism, the places of Don Bosco in the capital of Italy.
(ANS - Perugia) - On October 2, 1922, the first Salesians arrived in Perugia and began their mission of educating and training young people, in the burgh of Porta Sant'Angelo. That is why just last Sunday, on the exact centenary of their arrival, the city's Archbishop, Msgr. Ivan Maffeis, presided over a solemn Eucharist in the church of St. Augustine, in Porta Sant'Angelo, during which he spoke words of profound esteem and great closeness toward the Sons of Don Bosco.
