Vendrogno, Italy – October 2023 – On 8 October a large group of Past Pupils from the Salesian House in Vendrogno, "Il Giglio" (The Lily), met for a day of sharing, remembrance and promotion of the Association. The activities took place between the centre of the village and the Parish of San Lorenzo and included the Mass, celebrated by Fr Cesare Ciarini, SDB, and concelebrated by Fr Roberto Colosio, SDB. It was an opportunity to remember the great figures who marked these places with their presence. In particular, mention was made of Fr Camillo Giordani, who was the Catechist and Director of "Il Giglio", and then Parish Priest in Vendrogno, and his brother Attilio, declared Venerable by Pope Francis on 9 October 2013 and whose 50 years since his birth into Heaven were celebrated last year. These figures were recounted by the former mayor of Vendrogno, Pietro Andrea Acerboni. Subsequently, the Past Pupils of Vendrogno elected their new President, Roberto Comi, who took over from Giuseppe Maffei who had spent twenty years at the helm and was a promoter of many initiatives. Stories and photographs about Vendrogno's house are also contained in the book "Don Camillo. L’allegria salesiana via di santità ", which gathers numerous testimonies, including one from Fr Pierluigi Cameroni, Postulator General for the Causes of Saints of the Salesian Family, himself a Past Pupil of "Il Giglio".
