Italy - CGS ‘Life’ from Biancavilla in Rome with the new musical about Pope Francis

12 February 2025

Rome, Italy - February 2025 - On 7 February, around 60 young people from the CGS ‘Life’ of Biancavilla (CT), at the capital's Teatro Roma, offered the capital's public their latest musical, ‘From the End of the World’, on the figure and message of Pope Francis. The show, original in its lyrics and music, was staged in a fresh and youthful style and met with considerable success. The story of Jorge Mario Bergoglio's youth, his search for and choice of vocation, his closeness to the poorest in a cross-section of Argentina's history marked by dictatorship and the bitter experience of the ‘desaparecidos’, up to his elevation to the throne of Peter, led the audience to reflect on many themes so dear to the Pope. The CGS ‘Life’ group has an experience of fifty years and the centre is made up of about a hundred young people and adults, committed to a path of human and Christian growth; they are involved in animation and, above all, evangelisation through theatre, musicals and cinema. They have taken their shows all over Italy and to various European countries. The group has an orchestra with professional musicians, dancers, actors, but above all young people who want to speak to the hearts of other young people. Videos and trailers of their plays can be seen on YouTube under CGS LIFE Biancavilla, or on the website: www.cgslife.it
