(ANS – Rome) – Rome-Ljubljana-Rome in less than 48 hours: barely two days after the celebration of the Feast of Mary Help of Christians, Friday, 24 May, at the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Via Tuscolana, and after his lightning visit to Slovenia the following day for the centenary of the church of Mary Help of Christians in Raknovik Ljubljana, the Rector Major returned to the southeast quadrant of Rome to celebrate the Eucharist on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity with the community of the Parish Basilica of St John Bosco in Rome, and thus conclude a special "triduum" under the sign of Our Lady of Don Bosco.

(ANS – Rome) – On the day of the Feast of Mary Help of Christians, 24 May 2024, by decree (Prot. No. 02906/2024 - 467/2021) the Vatican Dicastery for Culture and Education has appointed Prof. Fr Andrea Bozzolo, SDB, Rector Magnificus of the Pontifical Salesian University (UPS) for the three-year tern from 2024-2027. Fr Bozzolo, who has already served the UPS in the same position from 3 August 2021, will begin his second term from 3 August 2024.
(ANS – Rome) – On Wednesday 29 May 2024, at 18:30 (UTC+2), the outcome of the restoration of the decorative program for the Saint Cecilia crypt, generously financed by the Fondazione Paola Droghetti ONLUS, carried out by Maria Gigliola Patrizi and Giovanna Prestipino under the direction of Barbara Mazzei, from the Pontifical Commission of Sacred Archaeology, will be presented at the site of the Saint Callistus Catacombs in Rome.
(ANS – Turin) – After three intense weeks of sharing and discussion, the "Corso Sorgente" (Return to the Sources) for missionaries ad gentes "over 70" ended on Saturday, 25 May 2024, an experience proposed by the Sector for Salesian Missions to older Salesians with long missionary experience, so that they could return to the source of their Salesian missionary vocation.
(ANS – Rome) – Keeping up the promise he made on 17 December 2023, when he took possession of the diaconate of Santa Maria Ausiliatrice on Via Tuscolana assigned to him by Pope Francis, the Rector Major of the Salesians and Titular Archbishop of Ursona, Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, celebrated the Feast of Mary Help of Christians 2024 in the church he is responsible for.

Italy – On-Line Course on Integral Ecology 2025: An Initiative of the Alliance for the Care of Our Common Home (Pontifical Universities & Atheneums of Rome)(ANS – Rome) – 2025 marks the tenth anniversary of Laudato Si’, Pope Francis’ landmark encyclical letter on the Care for Our Common Home, in which he invited all people of good to “a new dialogue about how we are shaping the future of our planet” (Laudato Si’, 14). However, as Pope Francis recognizes in Laudate Deum, the apostolic exhortation published on 4th October 2023, “our responses have not been adequate” and “the world in which we live is collapsing and may be nearing the breaking point.” (Laudate Deum, 2).
