Rome, Italy - On 11 July at the American Embassy in Rome, a ceremony was held to return two very valuable cultural assets to Italy from the United States, the result of a joint operation between the FBI and Carabinieri. In the presence of Division General Claudio Vincelli, Commander of the Carabinieri Specialized Unit Division, and Brigadier General Fabrizio Parrulli, Commander of the Carabinieri Protection of Cultural Heritage division (TPC), Ambassador Lewis M. Eisenberg returned two extraordinary items belonging to Italian cultural heritage: a letter from Saint John Bosco to the Duchess Agnese Boncompagni Ludovisi, dated 30 July 1867, and a polychrome mosaic, dating back to the I-II century AD, depicting the face of a satyr.

(ANS - Torre Annunziata) - A center for minors to combat the phenomenon of children dropping out of school: it shall open at the beginning of next month in Torre Annunziata, near Naples, thanks to the initiative of a Salesian and the collaboration of the institutions. Given its specific mission, the center was given the name of "Casa Valdocco".

(ANS - Rome) - "What paternity today for the Salesians' affective maturity?" was the challenging title of a course of formation promoted by the Conference of the Salesian Provinces of Italy (CISI) and addressed to the formators of the Salesian houses of the Provinces of Italy. The event, held in Rome, at the San Tarcisio Salesian Institute, from 1 to 3 July, brought together about 25 Salesians.

Castelnuovo Don Bosco, Italy - July 2019 - From 1 to 6 July a group of 67 young Salesians and educators from various Salesian centers in Portugal, who met during the monthly vocational meetings, visited the Salesians sites: Colle Don Bosco, Cascina Moglia, Chieri, Capriglio, Mondonio and Valdocco. "Meeting with Don Bosco" is a project of vocational promotion of the Salesians of Portugal aimed at members of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM), acolytes, animators, scouts, choir members, catechesis, the groups of “Friends of Domenico Savio” and “Club Bosco”, students of the Catholic Moral and Religious Education courses, and others.

Tivoli, Italy - July 2019 - On 6 July Mons. Mauro Parmeggiani, bishop of Tivoli-Palestrina, presided over the opening Eucharistic celebration of the XI General Chapter of the Salesian Oblates of the Sacred Heart on the theme “With Mary, a true oblate, chosen to be holy and immaculate ... sent into the world to be a prophecy of joy, hope, charity”. The work will continue until July 28 and is a precious time of sincere and joyful research of what the Spirit is asking the Salesian Oblates of the Sacred Heart today to respond with creative fidelity to the mission of making men and women of today aware of the love and salvation of Jesus.

Bra, Italy - June 2019 - This year the Vocational Training Center (CFP) of Bra has officially become "home for the formators of formation", and last June 24, three summer courses were presented. These are refresher courses, at national level, in the sectors of Industrial Mechanics, Digital IT and Tourism-Hotel and Agri-food. The initial greeting to the over 60 formators, coming from many Italian regions, was made by the Director of the Salesian center, Fr. Vincenzo Trotta, and by the director of the CFP, Valter Manzone.

    (ANS – Rome) - The figure of St. Francis de Sales, chosen by Don Bosco as an example of a communicator, teaches that communication is a matter of the heart. In his expression, "Everything in the Church is love: everything lives in love, for love, and of love," we understand his revolution in the way of communicating, and how communication becomes fruitful when it allows communion and the exchange of one's experiences in a path of accompaniment and collaboration in God's project.
