Turin, Italy - February 2022 - On February 12, a meeting was held in Valdocco for the young people who left on a mission last summer. In the first part of the afternoon, the group was accompanied by Fr Enrico Lupano, SDB, in a missionary-related reading of some rooms of the Casa Don Bosco Museum; afterwards they experienced a moment of reflection, discussion and sharing. It was an important meeting, six months after returning home, to go back in memory to the summer missions and compare notes with those who shared the same path. It was also a great opportunity to live a time of community and family, which reminded us that the first mission that each of us is called to live is that of everyday life, taking care of relationships with our neighbors.

(ANS - Rome) - The identity of Don Bosco's Salesians stems from religious consecration: it was the young people who agreed to take their vows with Don Bosco to give the original form of the Salesian identity. Returning to the roots of Salesian consecrated life is the implicit task in the journey of rediscovering the identity indicated by the Rector Major for this six-year term. Pope Francis has repeatedly reminded all consecrated persons, and the Salesians in particular, to take on the effort of the prophecy of their charism.
(ANS - Rome) - The recent cases of fatal accidents on the job, at work, involving young people during alternating dual school-work programs have rekindled the debate on the advisability of having students carry out training experiences in private companies. To the point that some have called for the abolition of alternating school-work and any other activity that sees students in close contact with the business world. A short-sighted vision that, as Fr Fabrizio Bonalume, Director General of the Centro Nazionale Opere Salesiane - Formazione e Aggiornamento Professionale, or CNOS-FAP, the Vocational Training sector of the National Center of Salesian Works, explains, does not take into account the variety and richness of these courses, which the Salesians have been offering for over a century and a half.
(ANS - Rome) - The Salesian Circumscription of Central Italy (ICC) and the banking institution "Intesa Sanpaolo" have signed an agreement aimed at families with school-age children who attend schools and Vocational Training Centers of the Salesian Family present throughout its territory (Abruzzo, Lazio, Liguria, Marche, Sardinia, Tuscany and Umbria).
Turin, Italy - 1922 - The Michele Rua Salesian Oratory celebrates its first 100 years this year. It was in fact 1922 when Fr Lunati opened the doors of this oratory, which soon became a place of worship and play that welcomed many children, children of the many migrations that have colored the face of the neighborhood. Even today, like 100 years ago, the oratory welcomes many young people, all of whom are part of the large community of Michele Rua.
(ANS - Turin) - The "Michele Rua" Salesian Oratory in Turin has just started celebrating its first 100 years of life and service to young people. Like the first Valdocco Oratory, it too began as nothing more than a canopy and a courtyard, but soon it grew together with the neighborhood and the city, educating entire generations and forming good Christians and honest citizens.
