San Salvador, El Salvador - November 2016 - The Business Foundation for Social Action (FUNDEMAS), has awarded the "Brand Positive 2016" to Don Bosco University for its social commitment through the "Science Camp for Girls”. The initiative promotes women's participation in Science and Technology courses, Engineering and Mathematics and links universities and businesses. To date 143 women from various cities have benefited from this programme.

Cebu, Philippines - November 2016 - From 25 to 27 November the third formation course for Delegates for the Salesian Family of the East Asia-Oceania region took place. It was attended by about 40 delegates from the FIS, FIN, ITM and PGS provinces. The course was led by Fr Eusebio Muñoz, (Delegate of the Rector Major for the Salesian Family), Fr Giuseppe Casti, (Salesian Cooperators), Fr Joan Lluis Playa (VDB and CDB), and Fr Pier Luigi Cameroni (ADMA). The participants drew up their "Action plan 2017-2020" marked by three watchwords: TOGETHER, in reflection, prayer and planning; TRAINING, at all levels; and LAY, for their increasing involvement.

Madrid, Spain – 18 November 2016 - The Pinardi Federation of Salesian Social Services received one of the 2016 Child Awards from the Community of Madrid for its work with the most disadvantaged children. The Community of Madrid considered that through various projects and initiatives on behalf of children the Pinardi Federation and the Salesian Social Services have brought about the development and extension of children’s rights, and their social participation. More than 700 children and their families receive support through various projects and programmes run by 80 professionals and 40 volunteers working in Pinardi Centres in Madrid and Castilla La Mancha.
