Tegucigalpa, Honduras - September 2016 - The Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, arrived in Honduras on 1 September.  In the afternoon he met the Salesian Family and the young people of the Salesian Youth Movement at San Miguel.

Kolkata, India - 1 September 2016 - Sr Lysa Assistant General of the Missionaries of Charity spoke to Fr Johny Nedungatt SDB, on his visit to the tomb of Mother Teresa. “Ever since the abduction of Fr Tom Uzhunnalil in Yemen, we as a community pray daily for Fr Tom’s well-being and his speedy release. We are writing his name on this black board, so that the sisters are reminded to pray for him daily. Intercessory prayers are being offered for Fr Tom. Usually we do not keep photos on the tomb of our dear Mother, but we have placed a photo of Fr Tom on the tomb, close to the statue of our Blessed Mother, and have exhorted our sisters all over the world to keep praying for the safe release of Fr Tom.”

Chaco Paraguayo, Paraguay - August 2016 - With a procession in honour of Saint John Bosco, the Ayorea community of Carmelo Peralta, Chaco Paraguayo, celebrated the birthday of the Saint of Youth. Fr Néstor Ledesma, Provincial of Paraguay, was present at the celebration.
