Iquique, Chile - August 2016 – As part of the centenary commemoration of the death of Bishop José Fagnano, the Vicar of the Rector Major, Fr Francesco Cereda, has begun in Iquique a tour of some cities of Chile, where he will meet with the various Salesian communities. He has visited Concepción where he met with representatives of the community of Talca, Linares, Concepción, Valdivia and Puerto Montt.

Port-au-Prince, Haiti - August 2016 - The Episcopal ordination of Bishop Sylvain Ducange, took place on 27 August. He was appointed by Pope Francis as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Port-au-Prince and assigned to the titular see of Nine. The celebration was presided over by Bishop Louis Kébreau, SDB, in the presence of numerous religious and civil authorities including the President of Haiti.

Maputsoe, Lesotho -  August 2016 - St Luke's  Salesian Mission in Maputsoe, celebrated the feast of Don Bosco on 26 August with the participation of more than three thousand young people from various educational institutions of the Salesian Family.
