Bangalore, India – 30 August 2016 - Fr Maria Arokiam Kanaga, Councillor for the South Asia Region, presided over the launch of the book "Don Bosco in Mangalore - Before the arrival of the Salesians," written by Sister Philomena D'Souza FMA, published by "Tej-Prasarini, Don Bosco Communications" of Mumbai. The event was chaired by Fr Mathew Kapplikunnel, Secretary ACSSA South Asia, and was also attended by Sister Piera Cavaglià, FMA, Secretary General of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.

Panama City, Panama - September 2016 - The archbishop of Tegucigalpa, Cardinal Oscar Andrés Rodríguez Maradiaga, SDB, was awarded the Medal of Honour by the "Familias Mundi" Institute and "Kiber Quare" University, for his  personal merit and his dedication to the attention and promotion of families around the world, especially for those most in need and those who live at risk of social exclusion. During the conferral Cardinal Rodríguez Maradiaga also received an award from the Rector of the "Columbus University Panama", Joaquín del Villar.

Recife, Brazil - August 2016 - The second Meeting of Salesian Radio Stations of the Recife Province (BRE) took place on 25-26 August. There were 15 participants, including members of the Provincial Commission for Communication, directors and key personnel of the two Salesian educational radio stations in the province: radio Dom Bosco (Fortaleza) and radio Padre Cicero (Juazeiro do Norte), and representatives of community radio Dom Bosco (Caetés- Abreu e Lima - Pernambuco) and Camaragibe FM (Matriz de Camaragibe - Alagoas). The objective of the meeting was to ensure continuity in the planning and coordinated actions and training process, in order to implement the provincial Salesian Educational and Pastoral Plan for the Radio stations.

Addis Ababa - August 2016 – A management course for Schools and Professional Centres was held from 22 to 26 August in the Vice-Province of Africa-Ethiopia (AET). There were 30 participants including Salesians and lay people. The course was organized by the Provincial PDO directed by Cesare Bullo SDB, coordinated by Doctor Antonio Raimondi, and led by Professor Fadi Kattan from Bethlehem University. The opening greeting and the final summing-up were given by the AET Superior, Fr Stefano Gebremeskel. The course touched on the main points for the proper management of human, material and financial resources of the educational centres, in order to train the staff as well as possible to meet the new challenges of modernity in the education of young Ethiopians.
