Turin, Italy - June 2017 - On 10 June, Msgr. Cesare Nosiglia, Archbishop of Turin, presided over the diaconal orders of 17 Salesians in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians.

Warsaw, Poland - June 2017 - On 10 June, representatives of the Salesian Sports Organization of the Polish Republic (SALOS RP) met with the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda. The meeting was held for the 25th anniversary of SALOS RP, which promotes sports for children and young people based on Christian and Salesian principles. President Duda said, among other things: "For many years I played football in the sports center of SALOS RP in Krakow... I was impressed by the conditions that were created which allowed for young people to achieve their best from a sports point of view .... For these activities, I would like to thank you with all my heart, because it is very important, because it constitutes what is really a fine continuation of an idea for which Don Bosco sacrificed his life and pastoral activity." President Duda also awarded 13 people with national awards: 7 Salesians, 2 Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and 4 laymen.

Valencia, Spain - June 2016 – A number of activities of the European networks ENSA,ELISAN and the "European Youth Care Platform", formed by regional governments and non-profit organizations, took place 6-9 June; their aim: to increase the employment of resources in social policies in the states of the European Union. Fr Segundo García, director of the "San Antonio Abad" Community in Valencia, and head of the Ángel Tomás Foundation, shared the work done by the Salesians of Valencia, with the various centers for minors, flats for emancipation and work with youth at risk. Other participants included: José Miguel Bautista, from Salesian Social Platforms; Brian Hogan, Director of “Don Bosco Care” (Ireland); Ángel Gudiña of Don Bosco International.

Jerusalem, Israel - June 2017 - On June 11, in the Basilica of Gethsemane, Archbishop Pierbattista Pizzaballa, O.F.M., Apostolic Administrator of Jerusalem, presided over the diaconal orders of 17 candidates, including 13 Salesians.

Rome, Italy - June 9, 2017 - Chaired by the Rector Major, Don Ángel Fernández Artime, the Plenary Session of the General Council began on 5 June. On the agenda: appointment of 9 new Provincials, reports of Extraordinary Visits, study and analysis of various issues pertaining to the Salesian Congregation, accompaniment of the new Provincials participating in the training course, Spiritual Exercises, and the Joint Meeting with the General Council of Daughters of Mary Help of Christians. The plenary session of the General Council ends 27 July.

Panama, Republic of Panama - May 2017 - From 22 to 26 May, the meeting of Pastoral Leaders of Latin America Youth was attended by representatives of the Pontifical Mission Societies, the Salesian Youth Movement and Hispanic Youth Pastoral of the U.S. The event was convened by the Department of Family, Life and Youth of CELAM (Latin American Episcopal Council) with the aim of reflecting upon, training and sharing experiences calling for new action strategies and the establishment of common guidelines for pastoral care of adolescents on the continent.
