Viana, Angola - June 2017 - The "Beato Stefano Sándor" Salesian School, located in the "Mulenvos" district of Viana, celebrated the patron saint's holiday on the 11th and 12th of June with a Eucharistic celebration and cultural activities that included theater, exhibitions and a photographic exhibition. At the end of the feast day, Ms Rosa Manuel, the school principal, read a message of encouragement to the students for the continuation of their learning process.

Tokyo, Japan - June 11, 2017 - The 47th annual meeting of the six Salesian churches in the Tokyo metropolitan area took place on the occasion of the celebration of the Holy Trinity, with circa 200 people attending. The meeting focused on the theme of vocations; four Salesians, including Fr Mario Yamanouchi, Provincial of Japan, shared their experiences.

Prague, Czech Republic - June 2017 - On 17 and 18 June, in the Salesian Province of the Czech Republic (CEP), Fr Guillermo Basañes, General Councilor for the Missions, presided over the mission's sending of 20 young Salesian missionary volunteers belonging to the Provincial Association of Volunteers and Missionary Animation (SADBA). Most of the young people, all Czech, shall leave for a year's service in various countries; among them, two young spouses-to-be who, after their marriage, will go to Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. In the homily, Fr Basañes said that when God wants to change the world, he begins by calling us by name and changing our hearts. "Do not leave to change the world, but to let God change your hearts." At the celebration, there were a large number of young couples, former volunteers, and many children.

Belém, Brazil - June 2017 - The National Week of Learning was celebrated in Brazil last week, and the Belém Salesian Trade School also participated with various workshops, meetings, activities and demonstrations in order to raise awareness of the importance of education to combat all forms of exploitation.

Guwahati, India - June 2017 - On June 16 and June 17, an animation program was held for the youth pastoral team of Guwahati Provinces (ING) and Shillong (INS), on "A holistic youth pastoral" animated by the Don Bosco Youth Animation of South Asia.

Lithuania - June 2017 - In this two-year jubilee year regarding St. Domenico Savio, the editor of the Salesian Bulletin of Lithuania, Fr Alessandro Barelli, SDB, translated and curated the biography written by Don Bosco just two years after the death of his "best student." The text has been revised from a stylistic point of view, updating it with the current Lithuanian language. Many the positive feedback from the Bulletin's readers, to whom the book was sent. A part of the Lithuanian episcopate also expressed satisfaction for the publication, and asked for copies to present s gifts to catechists and religious teachers of the various dioceses. The print run was 5,400 copies, which for the small country is very considerable. The work adds to the collection of Classical Salesian texts published in the Lithuanian language, one of the oldest living languages in Europe.
