Ypacaraí, Paraguay - September 2018 - The Provincial Congress of the Association of Salesian Cooperators (ASC) of Paraguay was held on September 8 and 9 on the theme "Salesian Cooperators: called to be co-responsible for responding to new challenges".
Buterere, Burundi - September 2018 - The Salesian center "Don Bosco Buterere" organized for 205 children and youth a writing and drawing competition on the theme of protection policies against child abuse. The aim of the competition was to help children recognize several forms of abuse: physical, sexual, emotional and negligence.
Fianarantsoa, Madagascar - September 2018 - On 2 September, at the oratory of Fianarantsoa, before circa two thousand people, the perpetual professions of three Salesians were celebrated. Present were Fr Daniel Federspiel, Superior of the France-South Belgium Province (FRB), and Fr John Williams, Director of the Formation House in Lyon, France.
Magdalena del Mar, Peru - September 2018 - From September 13 to 15, the IV Meeting of Salesian Communicators of Peru took place to promote the integration of communication in the country's various Salesian centers. During the meeting, participants deepened various themes that are important for their pastoral and communicative work. Groups were also formed to share and learn about the future Crisis Handbook the Salesian Province of Peru is developing. The participants were able to visit the newspaper "El Peruano" and the "Andean Agency" and attend a photography workshop organized by Zergio Valencia. Among others, speakers included Melissa Rivadeneira, an expert in communication, and Ruth Palomino, a neuropsychologist. The Provincial Delegate for Social Communication, Cristhian Becerra, SDB, invited the participants to continue working in synergy.
Lorraine, Brazil - September 2018 – On September 15, about 250 members of the Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA) of the Salesian Province of São Paulo (BSP) took part in the meeting on the theme "With Mary, Woman of Faith".
Haverstraw, United States - September 2018 - From 7 to 9 September, the Salesian Mission in New Rochelle organized the gathering of lay missionaries of the "Salesian Lay Missioners" program (SLM) who have lent their work to various parts of the world for the past 35 years. During the event, with its 35 participants, Fr Tomhas Dunne spoke and underlined the positive impact of lay missionaries in and across the world. Since the SLM program was established in 1983, over 800 men and women have chosen to work in Salesian missions worldwide.
