(ANS - Rome) - On 23 and 24 August,2021, the Provincial Delegates for Missionary Animation and Social Communication, belonging to the Interamerica Region, met for the first time.
(ANS - Rome) - The participants of the Salesian School of Accompaniment, that has been taking place in Valdocco since last August 16, visited the Sant’Ignazio Sopra Lanzo shrine on 19 August, about 40 km north-west of Turin.
(ANS – Rome) – One of the methods being used in the process of revision of the Ratio is the “focus group.” In the months of June and July 2021, four such groups were conducted, on Formation in mission, Joint formation, Affectivity and Sexual Orientation, and Formation in a Digital World.
(ANS - Rome) – Taking place yesterday, 17 August, was the Regional Meeting of the Provincial Delegates for Missionary Animation and for Social Communication, convened by the Missions and Social Communication Sectors; its theme: "Communicating Christ today". The participants, 30 in total, came from the Provinces of the America South Cone Region. In light of the Rector Major's guidelines after the GC28 for the six-year term, the meeting had two main objectives: to foster coordination and synergy between the two Sectors and to reflect on how to promote the proclamation of Christ today.
(ANS - Rome) – Being presented today, 16 August, Don Bosco's 206th birthday, is the song “Rise and Shine”. Composed by Fr Gildasio Mendes, General Councilor for Social Communication, it is a song about Don Bosco walking with the young towards the future with hope and joy.
(ANS - Rome) - In its intent to promote animation, debate, sharing and, ultimately, the leading role of young people who frequent the environments of the Salesian Family, the August monthly video of the "CaglieroLIFE" feature column, promoted by the Salesian Congregation's Missions Sector, focuses on a very compelling theme: how to build a Church that welcomes? And who can do it?

The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

Spain – 33rd Edition of the Edebé Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature: Here Are the Winners(ANS – Madrid) – The 33rd edition of the Edebé Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature has been awarded to Beatriz Giménez de Ory (Madrid, 1972) for her novel Tres niños tristes y medio unicornio (Three Sad Children and Half a Unicorn) and David Lozano (Zaragoza, 1974) for his novel La cacería (The Hunt).

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
