(ANS - Rome) - On the afternoon of December 28, at the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the Salesian Pontifical University in Rome, the much-awaited episode on the 2022 Strenna featuring an interview with the Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, was held; its theme: "Do all through love, nothing through constraint" (St. Francis de Sales). The event was broadcast live on ANSChannel and on the ANS Facebook page.
(ANS - Rome) - On Friday 24 December 2021, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, with the consent of his Council, appointed Fr SORO Kolotcholoma Denis as Provincial Superior of the "Saint Joseph" Province of South West Africa (AOS) for the 2022-2028 six-year term.

Artime, with the consent of his Council, appointed Fr Jorge Mario Crisafulli as Provincial Superior of the Africa Nigeria-Niger Province (ANN) for the 2022-2028 term.

(ANS - Rome) - Everything is now ready: on Monday, 27 December 2021, the Salesian Family from all over the world will be able to watch the official presentation of the Strenna of the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, for the year 2022. The theme of the message, already announced months ago - "Do all through love, nothing through constraint" - is inspired by St. Francis de Sales, on the 400th anniversary of his death, and will be accompanied by the traditional video.
(ANS – Rome) – Last Friday, December 17th, the Rector Major Fr. Angel Fernandez Artime met with the outgoing President of the World Confederation of Past Pupils of Don Bosco, Mr Michael Hort, following the 6th General World Assembly which was held online on the 26th – 28th November 2021. During the meeting with the Rector Major, Mr. Hort officially gave the handing over to the newly elected World President Mr. Bryan Magro and thanked the Rector Major for the support that he had always shown toward the Past Pupils Movement.

(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

(ANS – Madrid) – The 33rd edition of the Edebé Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature has been awarded to Beatriz Giménez de Ory (Madrid, 1972) for her novel Tres niños tristes y medio unicornio (Three Sad Children and Half a Unicorn) and David Lozano (Zaragoza, 1974) for his novel La cacería (The Hunt).

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
