(ANS - Rome) - Based on the results of the questionnaires on Integral Ecology administered in recent months to all the Salesian provinces and houses around the world, the Youth Ministry Sector has decided to offer a basic 90-minute formation session on this important topic.
(ANS - Rome) - During the Spirituality Days of the Salesian Family 2022, dedicated to the spiritual and pastoral study of the Rector Major’s Strenna centered on St. Francis de Sales, Fr. Pierluigi Cameroni, Postulator General for the Causes of Saints of the Salesian Family, offered a contribution that highlights how “our journey to holiness and the promotion of the Causes of Beatification and Canonization of our Salesian Family draw great inspiration and strong motivation from him.” In fact, from his person and his doctrine emanate an impression of rare fullness, demonstrated in the serenity of his intellectual research, but also in the richness of his affections, in the "sweetness" of his teachings that have had a great influence on the Christian conscience.
(ANS - Rome) - The meeting of the Mission Animation Officers of the Mediterranean Region took place last Thursday, 13 January. The meeting’s theme was the "First Proclamation Today", featuring the book by Fr Alfred Maravilla, General Councilor for the Missions, as a guide for reflection.
(ANS - Rome) - Issue 77 (July-December 2021) of "Ricerche Storiche Salesiane" (RSS), the bimonthly magazine of religious and civil history, published by the Istituto Storico Salesiano (ISS), has been published. In this second publication of 2021 - the year which was dedicated to Fr Paolo Albera, due to the centenary of his death - all three essays are dedicated to the figure of the Second Successor of Don Bosco.
(ANS - Rome) – A new year, new videos for the "CaglieroLIFE" feature of the Sector for the Missions: as we approach the monthly recurrence of the first Salesian missionary sending, yesterday, 11 January, a new video was uploaded that is useful for the reflection and animation of youth and missionary groups. The January video has as its theme "INTERCONNECTION" and explores the opportunities and risks of social networks.
(ANS - Rome) - The official launching of the booklet on the Parish and the Shrines entrusted to the Salesians took place on January 10 (12:00 noon - UTC+1, in English) and January 11 (3:00 p.m. - UTC+1, in Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish and French) via the Zoom platform, as scheduled.

RMG – Don Bosco: “The Fascinating Saint”
(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco is perhaps the most amazing and fascinating saint, history has ever produced. The humble work which he began for the welfare of his poor and abandoned boys in Italy has produced astonishing results, and today there are nearly 14000 Salesians working in 138 countries, and there are more than 200,000 members belonging to the 32 groups of the worldwide Salesian Family sharing the charism of Don Bosco and reaching out to the needy young people.

Spain – 33rd Edition of the Edebé Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature: Here Are the Winners
(ANS – Madrid) – The 33rd edition of the Edebé Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature has been awarded to Beatriz Giménez de Ory (Madrid, 1972) for her novel Tres niños tristes y medio unicornio (Three Sad Children and Half a Unicorn) and David Lozano (Zaragoza, 1974) for his novel La cacería (The Hunt).

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe
(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill. Saint John Paul II instituted the day “to encourage the people of God, Catholic health institutions and civil society to be increasingly attentive to the sick and to those who care for them.”
